Coach. Teacher. Mentor. Husband. 4th Generation Pastor. Elijah J. Curtis has committed his life to God’s top priorities: “People. People. People.” Apostle Curtis began his ministerial career as a youth minister at the age of 15, working and leading people to Christ not just from the pulpit but even in his school. At age 16 he was appointed Youth Pastor of the Crusaders for Christ Church in Quitman, GA. He continued to grow in his ministry organizing outings, working street meetings, driving the church van, and creating a safe place for young people to pursue their life in Christ.
Licensed as an evangelist at the age of 19, Elijah Curtis continued the work of ministry through revivals, street meetings, and shut-ins. The following year, God saw fit to accelerate his responsibilities to the Crusaders for Christ Church as he was appointed interim Pastor by his father, Apostle Nathan Curtis, and formally installed as Sr. Pastor on May 4, 2018.
In addition to his ministry responsibilities, Apostle Elijah Curtis has built a strong career as a Middle School Science Teacher and sports coach. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Valdosta State University as well as a Specialist Degree in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southwestern State University. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree in educational leadership, because he believes in the art of learning.
All these achievements pale in comparison to his most prized moment, marrying his high school sweetheart, Brittany J. Curtis in 2020. Commissioned as Apostle at the 2023 Ascend Convocation of the Connection Church, Apostle Elijah Curtis serves as Sr. Pastor and CEO of the Connection Church.
